It has already been argued on the channel, but I think we ought to make this discussion public in order for each and everyone to put his/her feelings about this : How should the front page look ? This is a permanent debate, and it must always be decided among the community, likewise Wikipedia's handling of the problem.
For one thing, I think we could get rid of the right frame which is quite the same menu as the navigation one the left. Provided we have an admin, it would be fine also to lock this main page in order to avoid multiple, successive and contradictory modifications.
Drop in your comments/ideas about what this page should/could look like :)

Right hand menu is now gone. The reason for it was historical really, it was before I was able to edit the menu on the left (you need specific permissions).
I think we should get rid of the big image and use info from the current Community portal page to generate sections explaining about the Atlas, Bestiary etc, and we can use thumbnail images as examples (maybe alternating with images on the left and right).

OK, I've now remove all that white space around the image and moved the text up - if anyone really hates this, let me know and I can change it back if loads of people hate it!

Just a useful tip: sometimes pages don't refresh properly, so we can add a purge function to the URLs: http://wikiborn.tcos.com/index.php?title=Testitesti&action=purge for example.
